Over the past weeks, I've started posts, but somehow never got to the "publish" button... my goal this week is to finish them all and get them online already! So, here we go...
When I had only 1 child, I remember asking a friend who had just had her third how she did it... she told me, "you rely on your friends". I never forgot that, but now I really understand it. We have the most amazing friends. I'm not bragging; I'm just in awe of how our friends have poured love out onto us. For starters, I'm glad we have the unlimited data plan on our phones with the crazy number of texts and calls I got in the few days leading up to Lucy's birth day- just friends thinking about us and telling us they were praying- and we felt those prayers! Then came the food. I told my sweet friend (also my OB) that we did not need a meal calendar for #3... she ignored me and sent out a massive email leading to many yummy meals delivered to our door. What a great help that was, and even more appreciated considering everyone who brought food has kids/husbands/jobs/life-in-general of their own to take care of. But my favorite thing about our friends is how they've been popping in (or driving or flying long distances!) for a visit- bringing toys for our older kids, a box of diapers, flowers, cupcakes, stinky cheese (which I wasn't allowed to eat while pregnant), and just lots of well wishes and love. The last few weeks of this pregnancy were pretty darn rough on all of us, but the first few weeks with our newborn were more than bearable. Dare I say easy? As easy as the transition to 3 kids can be. One thing I'm sure of- I'll be forever grateful. Our friends have shown love so well that they have inspired me to love deeper, and generously. Thank you, friends!
"When we consider the blessings of God - the gifts that add beauty and joy to our lives, that enable us to go through stretches of boredom and even suffering, friendship is very near the top". I am so thankful for the precious circle of friends God has brought into your life!
