refreshed

We never thought our trip to San Diego would be relaxing. And it wasn't. It was FUN, crazy-kid chaotic, and for me, refreshing. I'm not just saying that because I just had my second cup of afternoon coffee. I've had a few great nights of sleep following our wild flight home (see below), and I find myself ready to tackle the last of my summer to-do list. Here's why:
I love these girls! Three of my favorite friends, and I got to see them all in SD! With 6 kids under the age of 4 literally running circles around us, I can't say we got a lot of quality time. Nevertheless, I'm refreshed. Sarah is truly one of the strongest women I know. Wife of a Marine (currently on his 4th deployment), amazing Mommy to Charlotte, driven, brilliant, kind and loving. Renee inspires me in so many ways! She's beyond creative, fun, fun, fun, would do anything for a friend, awesome Mommy to Parker, and beautiful. And she has no idea about that last one. Kristin is wise beyond her years, incredibly thoughtful, incredibly strong, and has the most caring heart. She is a wonderful Mommy to Reese and Hayden, and it is my joy and privilege to hear them call me Aunt Mere (no blood relation). As I proof this, I realize it sounds like I'm bragging. I didn't intend to go on and on, but it's overwhelming, the gift of friendship. What a tremendous blessing!

  1. What a joy and blessing it is to know each one of you and your beautiful children. Your energy and enthusiam amaze me almost as much as the faces of these sweet angels! Thank-you for sharing these pictures Meredith. You are an amazing daugther, wife, mom, friend and child of God. I am thankful for you everyday.

  2. These pictures tell such a great story! I so enjoyed our time together, even if it was mostly a compilation of a few words here and there while chasing children in between. And thank you for the sweet words, my even sweeter friend.

I still haven't dealt with my 700 photos from vacation. I keep telling myself to quit taking so many and then I keep doing it anyway.

Will you send me the "priceless" picture of Reese? It's such a good one!

  4. Meredith, I am amazed by you!!! Truly, your calling from God is to be a mother because you are perfect at it! I learned so much from you while you were here, mostly through example. The way you are with your kids is inspiring.

Thannk you for visiting my friend! I have so many great memories of that week together, and often find myself laughing out loud remembering how crazy it was.

Your blog is poetic....I am amazed!
